Meet Our Founder Debra Kirsten (CSA)TM
Curative Care by Design was founded by Debra Kirsten, a dedicated healthcare professional and Licensed Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)TM with over 25 years of experience across virtually every corner of the healthcare world — from hospitals and rehabilitation centers to home care and all levels of senior living. That breadth of experience means Debra has seen firsthand what patients truly need during their most vulnerable moments, and just as importantly, where the gaps in care too often appear.
But Debra’s understanding goes beyond the professional. She has personally navigated major surgeries of her own — including joint replacements, orthopedic injuries, and retinal conditions — giving her a deeply personal perspective on what it feels like to be the patient. She knows the anxiety of preparing for a procedure, the challenges of recovery at home, and the profound difference that having the right support can make. That lived experience is at the heart of everything Curative Care by Design does.
As a Licensed Certified Senior Advisor, Debra brings a specialized understanding of the unique physical, emotional, and social factors that affect older adults — a population that faces some of the highest rates of major surgical procedures. This expertise allows Curative Care by Design to serve senior clients with an especially informed and compassionate approach.
Driven by professional expertise, advanced credentials, and personal understanding, Debra created Curative Care by Design to fill the gaps that too many surgical patients fall through. She built a service that brings together clinical insight, genuine empathy, and the kind of individualized attention that the traditional healthcare system rarely has time to provide.
As Your Healing Advocate, our team provides dedicated one-on-one care for patients navigating major surgical procedures. We coordinate closely with your medical team, show up when you need us, and make sure nothing — not a missed appointment, not an unanswered question, not an unsafe moment at home — falls through the cracks.
